Get Your Groove and Grub On

At the intersection of Frankford and Girard, Johnny Brenda’s is a longtime hotspot for live music in the city. Part gastropub, part live music venue, Johnny Brenda’s hosts some of Philly’s hottest bands five nights a week. Filled with Philly pride and with a 250-person capacity, Johnny Brenda’s plays host to great local musical acts and craft beers from some of the area’s best breweries.

Soak up the Sunshine

Historical Penn Treaty Park is a great place to unwind in the city. The land that is now the park was part of the Lenape village of Shackamaxon, where William Penn famously entered into a treaty of peace with Tamanend, a chief of the Lenape Turtle Clan in 1683. Today it hosts people out for a stroll with their dogs, families, and friends gathered for picnics and so many more fun outdoor activities, all along the Delaware River.

Visit an Urban Farm

A neighborhood mainstay since the late-1990s, GreensGrow is Philly’s top urban farm. Today visitors are greeted by three large high tunnel raised beds, greenhouses, a well-stocked garden center and farm stand, an animal family, and hosts a variety of community events and educational workshops.

Fishtown is home to many of Philly’s most popular breweries. Home to Evil Genius Beer Company, Philadelphia Beer Company, and After Midnight Brewing, among many others, Fishtown is flush with breweries and brewpubs and you’re guaranteed to find something you love!
